Area of Operation

DEVLINK is mandated to work countrywide. However, our major operations concentrates in the western region of Kenya including the major part of the fishing community.

Mainstreaming gender in livelihood programs

The organization has been engaged in empowering the community in livelihood programs through food security and microenterprise activities for income generation(economic empowerment).

This has also involved people living with HIV and AIDS  given their vulnerabilities and the crosscutting factors in the spread of HIV/AIDS. In  a bid to address economic vulnerabilities of women in the community, the organization in partnership with the government of Japan constructed an Economic Empowerment Centre to nurture talents, innovative skills and creativity for meaningful socio-economic development and  entrepreneurship in Homa Bay County.

The organization also purchased water pumps for  horticultural farming for  HIV/AIDS support groups to address the insecurity. This has seen an improvement in general health status  and improved self esteem among PLHIVs and their families.
